Each year we try to offer a little assistance to a selection of gliding events and initiatives by providing sponsorship towards competition prizes or the costs of publishing a magazine or promoting an event or funding a trip.
In 2005 we commissioned local craftsman John Taylor to create a new trophy for Competition Enterprise. The Blunt Nail Trophy is the result.
A replica of a Kirby Gull, it represents the spirit of doing things the hard way. The Competition Director will award it each year to a pilot or pilots for meritorious performance in the competition.
Congratulations to those pilots listed below who have already been awarded the trophy. We hope that their determination will inspire new competitors to rise to the challenge.
Past winners:
| 2008 | Martin Woolmer | Cirrus 75 |
| 2007 | Liam Watt | Ka8b |
| 2006 | Stuart Naylor & Billy Fisher | Grob Twin II Acro |
